By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Aug 2025 2:02 PM ISTIt has been really long time since Junior NTR had delivered a bad film, and finally this wait came to an end with War 2. This film market, the debut of NTR in the Hindi market, and the expectation was high on the same right from the beginning.
However, the film has now ended up as a mega disaster at the box office with less than 50% recovery at the global box office and it can easily be one of the biggest loss-making films in recent times.
The film was reportedly made on a budget of ₹400 crore. Including the interests and the production costs, it was estimated that the film would have an estimated breakeven mark of around ₹650 to 700 crore.
However, the film could not get anywhere close to the breakeven target as it could only manage to collect in the range of ₹300 crore gross.
With less than 50% recovery being done till now, the film has completed the theatrical run as it is not exhibiting any shares in the Telugu or Hindi markets. Subsequently, it will now go down as one of the biggest disasters of all time in Indian cinema and Yash Raj films will be losing big money on the same.
Now that the run is done and dusted, it has to be seen where this film would end up in terms of investment and loss to the production house, and this calculation would include the non-theatrical deals as well.
