War 2 Vs Coolie: Who Is Going To Win?

The South Indian box, Office is going to witness a huge class between two pan Indian films Coolie and War 2. Both the films are releasing in theatres on August 14, and here is a looking into the kind of box office prospects that are pending on the same.

War 2, made by Yash Raj Films, stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. It is a part of their popular Spy Universe and is expected to be a massive action entertainer. The Telugu theatrical rights were sold for around ₹80 crore. To break even, the film needs to collect over ₹140 crore gross in Telugu states alone.

On the other hand, Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Aamir Khan, and Shruti Haasan. The film’s Telugu rights were sold for about ₹50 crore, and it needs around ₹90 crore gross to break even.

In terms of theatres, War 2 has already booked top IMAX and multiplex screens for up to three weeks. This could be a challenge for Coolie to get good screens. However, Coolie has started promotions early and has built a strong buzz in South India.

While War 2 may perform better in North India, Coolie is expected to lead in the South. The final result will depend on audience word-of-mouth, content quality, and how well each film performs after release.
