Power of Telugu SM: This Is What We Need!
However, the results were felt rather quickly as the makers of these two films have decided to quit the proposal to go for hikes.
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Aug 2025 6:10 PM ISTAs soon as the news broke out about how the makers of two upcoming films War 2 and Coolie are going for price hikes, there was a huge uproar on social media. Social media users started to comment against the makers of these films for their desire to exploit Telugu Cinema audiences.
However, the results were felt rather quickly as the makers of these two films have decided to quit the proposal to go for hikes. Both the films are now releasing with standard prices in the Telugu states.
There is good news for movie fans in Telangana. The government has confirmed that there will be no ticket price hike for the upcoming big films Coolie and War 2, which are releasing on August 14, 2025. Ticket prices will stay at the regular rates ₹295 for multiplexes and ₹175 for single-screen theaters.
In Andhra Pradesh, the situation is still not decided. A government order is expected soon. There are rumors that prices might be increased by ₹50–₹75, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Earlier, some distributors had requested a big hike, with multiplex prices between ₹300–₹550 in AP and Telangana. This led to strong criticism from fans, who felt it was unfair compared to other states. For example, in Tamil Nadu, tickets cost ₹150–₹200, and in North India, around ₹180–₹250.
Many people, including producer Rahul Yadav Nakka, opposed the hikes. He pointed out that the industry refuses to increase workers’ pay but is ready to charge the audience more. Fans on social media also called it exploitation.
For now, Telangana viewers can enjoy these big films without paying extra, while Andhra Pradesh fans are waiting to see what decision their government will take.
