Fresh On OTT: What Are The New Options?

As we are preparing for another fun weekend, that is on the horizon, let us have a look at the kind of reels that are available for streaming on OTT this week. Read on to decide which of these deserve a place in your weekend watchlist.

Netflix brings Maa, a Hindi mythological horror thriller starring Kajol, which earlier had a theatrical release and now arrives for streaming. Another big release on Netflix is Maareesan, a Tamil drama-thriller featuring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, which will be available in multiple languages.

Amazon Prime Video is premiering Thalaivan Thalaivii, a Tamil romantic action-comedy starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen. Telugu audiences can also catch Hari Hara Veera Mallu on Prime, which started streaming on August 20. On Aha, Kothapallilo Okappudu and Peranbum Perungobamum are listed for release, though official confirmation is awaited.

Zee5 has two regional titles, the Bengali drama Aamar Boss and the Kannada mystery series Shodha. Meanwhile, Saina Play is streaming Perumani in Malayalam. Lionsgate Play has Soothravakyam, also in Malayalam, already available from August 21. SunNxt is expected to release Kapata Nataka Sutradhari in Kannada.

For English content, Netflix is offering The 355 and On Swift Horses, while Hotstar is releasing The Alto Knights and Eenie Meanie. MUBI will stream Hot Milk, a drama film.

Alongside these, international viewers also get Peacemaker Season 2 on Hotstar, Invasion Season 3 on Apple TV+, and Long Story Short, an animated film on Netflix. This week’s lineup covers a mix of Indian regional films, big star projects, and global releases.
