Will Tollywood Take Over In 2024?

2022 has been a golden year for South cinema and we can clearly see the domination at the National Awards and other international awards. While movies like 'KGF' and 'RRR' collected more than 1000 crores, films like 'Kantara', 'Karthikeya 2' and many more performed exceptionally well in the Northern markets as well. Even 'Pushpa' collected wonderfully across the nation.

But one can say that 2023 belongs to Bollywood. SRK made a stellar comeback by delivering two back-to-back 1000 crore movies like 'Jawan' and 'Pathan' in the same year. His 'Dunki' is also doing good business considering the content and the budget. 'Animal' is close to the 900 crore mark while 'Gadar 2' minted more than 600 crores. 'Tiger 3' too collected more than 350 crores with average talk. Apart from that, medium films like 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke', 'Satya Prem Ki Katha', 'Dream Girl 2', 'Tu Jhooti Main Makkar', 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' did wonderfully at the box office. All the heroes who delivered flops over the past few years have bounced back in 2023.

Sadly, there is no chance of the big stars like SRK, Salman, Aamir, Ranbir and Ranveer arriving in 2024. Barring Hrithik Roshan's 'Fighter' and a couple of interesting flicks like 'Welcome 3', 'Hera Pheri 3', 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and others, there are no huge projects in Hindi that cater to a nationwide audience. On the other hand, Tollywood is arriving with all the big stars in 2024.

Star heroes who missed 2023 are arriving with huge projects and pan-Indian films. Mahesh is arriving with 'Guntur Karam' in January and NTR's pan-Indian flick will be released on 5th April. Allu Arjun's much-awaited 'Pushpa 2' will hit the screens on 15th August while Dil Raju revealed that 'Game Changer' may release in September. With Prabhas planning to arrive with a grand project 'Kalki 2898 AD' in 2024 as well along with Pawan's 'OG', Tollywood is going to have a wonderful year if all the above-mentioned projects work well. Let us see if it happens or not.
