Yash is currently busy promoting Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film marks his return to the big screen after KGF: Chapter 2, which released in 2022. Because of this, interest around Yash and his upcoming movie is very high.
One of the topics discussed was Rashmika Mandanna’s old “Mr Showoff” comment. In 2017, Rashmika was asked on a television show to name a person who could be called “Mr Showoff” in the Kannada film industry. She quickly answered Yash’s name. Her comment upset many of Yash’s fans, and she later apologised for it.
Years later, Yash said he does not know why Rashmika gave that answer. He also suggested that such television shows can sometimes force celebrities to answer questions quickly.
Yash made it clear that he does not allow another person’s opinion to decide who he is. According to him, people can have different opinions, but those opinions do not change his real personality. He also said that true fans should respect other actors instead of attacking them.
Yash also spoke about a comment made by producer Allu Aravind before. Aravind had questioned how big Yash was before KGF and said the film became successful because of its grand making and scale.
Responding to the point, Yash agreed that producers and filmmakers play a major role in a movie’s success. However, he said cinema is a team effort involving actors, writers, technicians, directors and many other people.
At the same time, Yash explained that an actor also has an important responsibility. If the lead actor cannot connect with the audience or carry the role properly, the movie may not work.
