Speaking at the event, Yash said the film is much more than a big-budget project. According to him, it is "India’s dream" and a special effort to present the timeless story of Lord Ram to audiences across the world.
Yash thanked producer Namit Malhotra for believing in such a huge project and giving him the opportunity to play the powerful role of Ravana. He said, "I am genuinely happy to be part of this wonderful project. The credit for bringing it to this stage belongs to Namit Malhotra. I am grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to play such a significant character."
The actor explained that everyone involved in the film is working with one common goal. He said, "We have all come together with one vision and one conviction: to take this story to a global platform. Everyone has kept their individual interests aside. There is only one shared interest, which is to tell the story of Prabhu Shri Ram to audiences around the world and celebrate him in our own country."
Yash also praised director Nitesh Tiwari for helping him understand the character of Ravana. He said the director patiently answered all his questions and guided him throughout the process.
Talking about his co-stars, Yash had special praise for Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram. He said, "Ranbir has been phenomenal. I think the whole of India will understand how deeply he has surrendered to this role and see the magic he has created."
He also appreciated Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, calling her a "flawless actor." Yash said, "When you see her perform, her eyes say everything."
The film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana will release in two parts. The first part is scheduled for Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected to arrive in 2027. The makers hope the film will introduce one of India’s greatest epics to audiences across the globe.
