Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is creating huge excitement before its theatrical release. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26, and its advance booking numbers are giving fans and the trade a big reason to celebrate.

According to the latest update shared by the makers, more than 100,000 tickets were sold in just one hour on BookMyShow and District apps. The makers described the response as a record-breaking spree and said that the film is witnessing “earth-shattering openings” across different locations.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is a gangster action drama featuring Yash in the lead role. The film has been carrying strong expectations for several months. Its trailer, action scenes and large-scale production have created considerable interest among movie lovers.

Trade reports suggest that Toxic could target an opening of around Rs 100-130 crore in India. The film has already recorded strong advance sales across several markets. This has increased expectations that it could compete with some of the biggest recent openers.

One major benchmark for Toxic is Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which reportedly earned Rs 102.55 crore net in India on its first day. Whether Yash's film can cross that number will depend on theatre occupancy and audience response after the first shows begin.

Toxic is being released in Kannada along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The movie has also received attention in overseas markets, where advance bookings are showing encouraging signs.

Yash plays Raya, a powerful gangster connected to a dangerous criminal world. Nayanthara plays his sister Ganga. Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth are also part of the cast.

With only hours left before the release, the huge ticket sales have increased curiosity around Toxic. Fans are now waiting to see whether the film can turn its record advance booking into a massive opening at the box office.
