None expected that the teaser of KGF fame, Rocking Star Yash’s latest film Toxic, will take out everyone by a shock, storm and stunnery. The teaser scored almost 200 million views cumulatively on platforms, including YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and others. But here’s the catch.

After the Toxic teaser made almost 80 million views on YouTube alone, various political leaders also jumped into the scene to condemn the toxicity portrayed by Yash and his director, Geethu Mohandas. Especially the making scene with a foreigner, and how that turns into triggering a bomb’s handle, has shocked them.

Taking note of this, Aam Aadmi Party’s women’s wing leaders from Karnataka have complained to Karnataka Mahila Commission about Toxic teaser, and also wrote to the Central Board of Film Certification, aka Censor Board, to take down the teaser. Finally, CBFC has responded to the same, and the written response has shocked them further.

CBFC confirmed that they have no right over the digital streaming platforms and cannot take down “Toxic” teaser from YouTube or any other digital platform. The Board has once again confirmed that those teasers and trailers that will be played inside theatres will get approval from them, but not everything that gets shared digitally.

We have to see how these politicians will now respond.
