The movie is directed by Venu Yeldandi, who won wide appreciation and a National Award for his debut film Balagam. After the success of that film, expectations are naturally high for his next project, and the recently released glimpse has increased curiosity among audiences.
One of the biggest highlights of Yellamma is the lead actor. Popular music composer Devi Sri Prasad is making his debut as a hero with this film. Known as the “Rock Star” of Telugu cinema, DSP has delivered many chartbuster songs over the years. However, this time he surprised everyone by appearing in a completely new avatar. In Yellamma, he plays a folk drum artist named Parshi. His raw, rural look and body language impressed viewers instantly.
The glimpse was released as a Sankranti special and received a positive response online. The video carries strong visuals and intense background music, which adds depth to the character. Devi Sri Prasad’s screen presence combined with the earthy tone of the film, hints that Yellamma will be rooted in rural culture and emotions, similar to Balagam but with a fresh narrative.
The film is presented by noted producer Dil Raju and produced under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations by Shirish. Makers have confirmed that Yellamma is a pan-India project and will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
