By: Shanaz B Syed | 7 Jan 2026 9:00 PM ISTAfter weeks of silence, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has finally tweeted about the epic blockbuster film “Dhurandhar” that completed a month’s run at the Box Office, and shattered many records. All these days, many are actually blasting YRF for not putting up any tweets on social media, though they have been involved in releasing the film in the overseas territories.
The congratulatory post from YRF, now going viral, hails Dhurandhar as “not just a film, but a milestone moment in Indian cinema,” while applauding director Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for delivering the highest-grossing Indian film ever in a single language. The acknowledgment comes after the film crossed a staggering ₹830 crore gross from the Indian box office alone, dethroning Pushpa 2 to become the biggest Hindi grosser of all time.
All these days, film lovers and trade circles openly questioned why YRF stayed silent while Bollywood’s many top stars also remained tight-lipped about this massive success. However, when their much-hyped YRF Spy Universe films like War 2 got thrashed at the box office, and were criticised for the depiction of Pakistani ISI agents as glamorous and good, while Indian spies are negative and confused, surely YRF’s silence is understandable.
Reacting to the post, even director Aditya Dhar felt elated. He posted, “Thank you YRF. It was growing up on films like Yash ji’s Deewar, Darr etc that greatly influenced me! Also not many people know this, but I actually got my first break with YRF itself, as a lyricist way back on Kabul Express!! To receive such kind appreciation today from a company whose iconic films have defined and nurtured generations of Indian filmmakers and cinema fans is deeply humbling”.
He also stated that this strengthens the resolve to keep pushing boundaries and telling stories with intent, courage, and conviction.
