The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination after serious allegations of question paper leaks. The exam was conducted on May 3, 2026, for lakhs of students who want admission into medical colleges across India. This sudden decision has created shock and tension among students and parents.

According to the NTA, the cancellation was made after receiving information from law enforcement agencies and central authorities. The agency said there were strong doubts about the fairness and security of the examination process. To protect the trust of students and maintain transparency, the Government of India approved the cancellation.

The NTA also announced that the examination will be conducted again on new dates. The fresh schedule and admit card details will be released soon through official channels. Students do not need to register again for the examination. The agency confirmed that all previous registration details and exam centre choices will remain valid for the re-exam.

Officials stated that no extra examination fee will be charged from students. The fees already paid by candidates will either be adjusted or refunded. The NTA said it understands the inconvenience caused to students and families, but added that maintaining the integrity of the national examination system is more important.
