By: Tupaki Desk | 17 Jun 2020 6:40 AM GMTIn the wake of the dreaded virus originated from the Dragon country China spread to 200 nations across the globe, The Lancet Global Health journal published a study which states that around 1.7 billion people across the globe are more vulnerable for the virus.
Talking about the new findings, Andrew Clark who works at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in the UK said that their estimates will turn useful in drawing measures to combat the fatal virus.
The researchers estimate that around 7.8 billion people which translates to four percent of the total population in the world might need to get hospitalized if they get infected with the virus and people with underlying health conditions are more vulnerable for the pandemic.
They have also found out that, around 23% of the total working-age across the globe are facing the underlying conditions, and one out of every five people are more vulnerable to the virus.
