10 Opposition MLAs jump fence at once

In a shocking blow to Opposition Parties ahead of Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, As many as 10 of their Legislators have shifted loyalties to ruling AIADMK. While 8 of them belong to actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth's Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), One each from Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Puthiya Tamizhagam too decided to sail with Jayalalithaa's party.
On Sunday, All of 10 Legislators submitted their resignation to Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker.
Defections reduced the tally of DMDK to a mere 21 MLAs. As a result, Vijayakanth lost the lead of Opposition status.
List of 10 MLAs who joined AIADMK:
DMK: C Arun Pandian, M Arun Subramanian, K Pandiarajan, K Tamil Azhagan, S Michael Rayappan, R Sundarrajan, T Suresh Kumar and R Santhi.
PMK: Kalai Arasu
Puthiya Tamizhagam: A Ramasamy
