By: Tupaki Desk | 29 April 2020 12:47 PM GMTIn what it could be a shocker, 12 members who attended the Tablighi Jammat religious congregation held at the Nizamuddin area of Delhi were arrested in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh for residing in the state without intimating the authorities.
Talking about the same, Sheopur Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay said that three locals were also sent to jail for providing shelter to the attendees of the congregation.
Out of the 12 attendees of the religious congregation, 10 people were Bangladeshi people while the remaining two were the residents of Kolkata city.
"They were earlier quarantined along with a few others who had reportedly got infected by coronavirus. Their latest samples have tested negative," Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay said.
The raid conducted by the police has identified around 22 attendees of the Tablighi congregation from the Bagvaj village of Sheopur which has turned out as the major hotspot of the COVID-19 in India.
Following this, a police case was filed on the 22 attendees of the congregation and the remaining 10 members will also be sent to jail soon.
