15 MLAs Stop Taking Chandrababu's Calls
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Jun 2019 3:52 AM GMTChandrababu Naidu may be vacationing, but his mind is in a great churn. Can the TDP be saved from extinction? Can it survive Modi-Shah attack? Already the Rajya Sabha team strength has come down from six to four. At least another MP is all set to join the BJP. Even the Lok Sabha MPs are appearing unreliable.
But, the biggest shock for him is that at least 15 elected MLAs are not in touch with him anymore. Repeated attempts to reach them have proved futile. They are not responding to Chandrababu Naidu's calls. Most of these MLAs are said to be unhappy at the way the party affairs are being run. They are resenting CM's son Lokesh Babu's dominance and interference. All these years, they kept quiet because Chandrababu was in power. Now that his strength in the assembly is reduced to 23 MLAS and in the Lok Sabha to just 3 MPs, Chandrababu is weak and vulnerable.
If sources are to be believed, these MLAs are said to be in touch with the BJP leadership. If the they join the BJP en masse, that will be treated as a merger, not defection. If and when this happens, The TDP strength will be reduced to eight MLAs only.
