Girl Raped In A Hyderabad Theater

A rape incident in Hyderabad created a sensation. A girl went to a theater to fetch water and a man working as theater staff allegedly raped her. She got escaped from there with the help of their relatives and revealed the ordeal to the police.
Going into the details.. a 14-year-old girl from Sangareddy came to the city and living with her brother and sister-in-law in Borabanda. They live in huts and they regularly fetch water from the nearby Vijetha theater for their daily needs. The girl went to the theater to fetch the water as usual on Tuesday morning. A person named Prashanth works as the staff in theater eyed on the girl. He took her to cellar saying that he will give water. Then he tied her hands put some clothes in her mouth so that she won't shout. Then he allegedly raped her. She locked her in the bathroom later and went out.
The relatives of the girl went to the theater as she didn't come home. They found out what happened to her and they approached the police. There are reports that negotiations took place to settle the issue amicably. As the girl is from a poor family, they tried to settle the issue with money. As the news came out, media entered the scene.
When media questioned that police are helping the accused to settle the issue, they took the matter seriously. They have registered a case and took the accused into custody. They have registered the case under Pocso act. There is criticism that police delayed in registering the case, as a few leaders try to settle the issue on behalf of the accused.
