To curb alarming raise in Urban Air Pollution, India is likely to impose a ban on commercial vehicles which were in use for over 15 years. This new rule might be implemented from April 2016.

As per World Health Organization report, 13 out of 20 Most Polluted Cities on the earth belong to India. If this situation continues, 600,000 premature deaths will be reported annually.

Old & Poorly Maintained Vehicles contribute to 60 percent of air pollution. So, Transport Ministry is going to fix 15 years as the end of the life for all commercial vehicles.

The only way to curb rise in air pollution is giving top priority to Public Transportation. In addition, Taxes on four wheelers such as cars need to hiked and so that people will prefer alternative source of transport.
