Speaker disqualifies 18 Rebel MLAs

The list include P Vetrivel, R Murugan, Mariappan Kennedy, R Thangadurai, M Rengasamy, K Kathirkamu, C Jayanthi Padmanabhan, S Muthiah, P Palaniappan, V Menthol
Balaji, K Uma Maheswari, NG Parthiban, Thangatamilselvan, M Kothandapani, TA Elumalai, R Balasubramani, SG Subramanian and R Sundarraj.
On August 22nd, 19 AIADMK Legislators who claimed being loyal to TTV Dhinakaran met Tamil Nadu Government Ch Vidya Sagar Rao and sought removal of CM Palanisamy citing they lacked confidence in him. One of the MLAs, SKT Jakkaiyan, returned to E Palanisamy's Camp again.
Government Chief Whip S Rajendran appealed Speaker to disqualify rebel MLAs for anti-party activities. Speaker served notices to the 18 MLAs seeking their individual presence. However, None of them turned up and hence a tough call has been taken Today.
In 234 Member Assembly, AIADMK won 134 seats in last elections. RK Nagar Seat fell vacant after Jayalalithaa's death. Whereas, DMK and Congress combinedly have 97 MLAs.
