Over two lakh Indian youths from across the US, who are facing imminent threat of deportation, has approached Biden administration and appealed to allow them to stay in the US. These Indian youths, though born in India, have spent their childhood and teenage in the US, face the danger of being deported. Since they have attained 21 years of age, they can no longer claim to be dependents on their parents's visas.

The parents of these students are in the wait for green cards in the US, which is a kind of permanent residence card that allows them to reside permanently in the US. An organisation called 'Improve the Dream' is fighting for the rights of such young Indians who have been living in the US. The organisational representatives have met several lawmakers and sought their support. They have prepared a list of over 2 lakh dreamers and are collectively rising awareness about their issues they are facing. They are demanding that the government allow them to qualify for the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) after the upcoming rulemaking in August, by removing the requirement to be undocumented. DACA was introduced by former president Barak Obama, but the policy was rescinded by Donald Trump.

Indian American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and Deborah Ross; Senators Joe Manchin, Lisa Murkowski, Rev Raphael Warnock and Michael Bennet.met the representatives of the Improve the dream and expressed their empathy towards their cause.
