Two Women under the age of 50 Years entered Sabarimala Temple in Kerala prior to the day break on Wednesday. They were the first to do so since the Supreme Court judgement permitting entry of women in all age groups.

Shockingly, Sabarimala Temple has been shut down after the entry of Women of menstrual age into the hill shrine. It's been re-open only after the purification ritual which lasted for about one-and-a-half hour.

Two Ayyappa Women Devotees were identified as Bindu and Kanaka Durga. Both of them in their early 40s entered the temple at around 3.45 am. They sneaked into the temple when the turn out of Devotees was low. While Bindu (44) is a college lecturer, Kanaka Durga (42) is a civil supplies employee.

Video Footage shows Women in all-black outfit entering the Sabarimala Temple while being escorted by the Police. A bunch of protesters could be seen at the same location.

One of the Two Women Devotees told media, 'We didn't enter the shrine through the 18 holy steps. Instead, We passed through the gate meant for the staff'.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan confirmed the entry of Women into the Sabarimala Temple. He assured police protection for all those women devotees who wish to worship at the shrine.
