2000 Corona Deaths Per Day In US

Spain and Italy are the first two unfortunate countries to have crossed 10000 Corona deaths. Now, the US has beaten this unenviable record. Till now, no European country has recorded a thousand deaths on a single day. But, the US has for the past two consecutive days, has recorded 2000 deaths a day. Now the total number of deaths as on Friday (April 10) has touched 16074.
New York is looking like a grave yard with body bags piling up. On Monday alone, 731 people died of Corona in New York. On Wednesday, the death toll was 779. The hospitals are bursting at seams unable to treat the Covid positive cases. The burial grounds in New York have no place to bury the dead and more and more bodies are arriving there every passing moment. Though vastly delayed the lockdown is now in force and this has brought the situation slightly under control. The new cases are gradually coming down. The civic body authorities say that the situation could come under control in about two weeks
But, the biggest problem is that the Government is unable to provide personal protection equipment (PPE) even to the doctors on duty. The authorities are requesting the people to shun the practice of shaking hands as this is turning out to be the biggest cause for the Corona spread.
