The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL) will kickstart from tomorrow. However, the upcoming edition has failed to create a buzz for the tournament unlike the previous edition of the game.

The 2020 edition was also surrounded by the Covid-19 shadow. But the BCCI went the extra mile and organised the tournament UAE and no fans were allowed to watch the matches in stadiums.

A similar fear aroused for the upcoming season too, with the second wave of Covid-19. On top of the second wave, a lot is going on conducting the matches without any issues in the wake of Corona's fear.

One major reason for the poor buzz of IPL is, the organisers opting for financial capital Mumbai as one of the big venues to host the tournament. Maharashtra is going through a tough period with Covid.

Mumbai being one of the venues for the game has hindered the interest of the spectator. Keeping this in mind, IPL Governing Council is said to have picked Hyderabad as an alternative venue.

The IPL organisers might change Mumbai as the venue if the Maharashtra government imposes a full lockdown to curb the infections.

On the other hand, the public is in no mood to talk or discuss the IPL tournament with Corona infections increasing in the country at an alarming level. Foreign players testing positive for Covid is also a reason for less buzz for the game.

The inaugural match of the IPL 2021 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and defending champions Mumbai Indians on April 9th. The Chennai MA Chidambaram Stadium will host the first match.
