2024 Polls: Who Can Be A Competitor To Narendra Modi?

Next year, India is slated to witness intense Lok Sabha elections. The general elections will be held in 2024. The Bharatiya Janata Party wants to win the elections for the third consecutive term and record history. Only the Congress party won the consecutive Lok Sabha elections.

On the other hand, the opposition parties have a common enemy, which is Bharatiya Janata Party. They want to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As the enemy's enemy becomes friends, the opposition parties are making efforts to come under one roof to take on the mighty Bharatiya Janata Party.

Narendra Modi has a strong image among people and a recent survey confirmed that. He was named the most popular Indian and leader with the highest ratings among the world leaders. This shows that his image is still intact despite criticism on various issues.

But there is no clarity on who would take on Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. A few leaders want to take on Modi. But they don't have the national acceptance Modi has. This factor is benefiting Narendra Modi over others.

West Bengal went through intense general elections in 2021 and it was a face-off between Mamata Banerjee and Modi. Mamata emerged victorious and proved that she is a tough competitor to Narendra Modi. So she can be a tough competitor in the next polls.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is slowly expanding his reach. His party came to power in Punjab and opened its account in Gujarat. He is also making efforts to show his impact on national politics and even contest as the PM if everything goes well.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR is another big name in this. He even named his TRS as BRS for national politics. He is catering to the farmer community largely and trying to woo them. He handed over cheques to the families of the farmers who lost their lives fighting against the agri bills.

It has to be mentioned here that, BJP faced negativity from the farming community as farmers protested for a few months demanding the scrapping of the laws. So KCR is going after the farmer community.

But the opposition parties are facing some issues. They are unable to overcome their issues and come together. While a few parties like BRS and TMC want to bring fronts at the center, a few parties like Shiv Sena, DMk, and others feel that the front cannot be formed with the Congress party.
