21% of Indian Beggars are 12th Passouts

As per a recent survey, 21% of Indian Beggars have passed at least Intermediate. Which means, Around 75,000 beggars of total 3.72 lakhs in the country fall in this category.
Census 2011 data reveal, Over 3,000 beggars are either having diplomas or graduates or post-graduates. They choose to beg as their degrees fail to fetch them jobs and this situation only reflects the employment in the country. Lack of job which fetches them a decent income & having no social support could be the major reason.
NGOs believe providing rehabilitation for beggars isn't an easy task as it appears. There is every chance of a beggar doing what he/she has done in the past because of the easy money.
