23 Ministers in Modi Cabinet spent Rs 3.5 crore

Interestingly, None of the Top 4 Ministers (Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj) in Narendra Modi's Cabinet spent a single penny on office improvement so far. It was Minister of State (MoS) or Those affected by recent Cabinet Reshuffle were liberal in spending on office decoration.
Smriti Irani alone spent Rs 70 lakhs on renovation of her office when she was HRD Minister. Another Rs 46 lakh was spent for the offices of her two junior ministers.
While Ch Birender Singh spent Rs 69 lakhs, Rajyavarhan Rathore renovated the office with Rs 41 lakhs. Upendra Kushwaha & RS Katheria jointly spent Rs 45 lakh.
Some of the Ministers who were generous in spending for office improvements include Jagat Prakash Nadda (Rs 22 lakh), Piyush Goyal (Rs 18 lakh), Sudarshan Bhagat (Rs 18 lakh), Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi (Rs 14 lakh) and Dharmendra Pradhan (Rs 11 lakh).
