25% of film shooting should be done in AP: Minister

Andhra Pradesh is a home for rich sceneries that makes the filmmakers prefer the state for the shoots. Areas like Rajahmundry, Araku, Lambasingi add more beauty to the state. After the Telugu film industry shifted to Hyderabad from Madras, Vizag used to be the center of attraction.
Before the 90's directors like Dasari Narayana Rao, K. Vishwanath, EEV, Raghavendra Rao used to shoot there. However, things have changed now and the filmmakers are preferring locations in Hyderabad and other states like God's own country Kerala. Some of the key scenes in Bahubali were shot in Kerala.
To give a boost to the shootings in the state, Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Culture, and Youth Advancement Minister Avanthi Srinivas had appealed to the producers to shoot in AP and at least 25 percent of the shoot should be done in Visakhapatnam.
This is a good decision from the Andhra Pradesh government to urge the filmmakers to look at Vizag as a spot for shootings. This will generate good revenue and create employment for the locals. The question that arises here is will the directors accept the proposal of the government.
Visakhapatnam was shown recently in Sharwanand-Siddharth starrer Maha Samudram. The Ajay Bhupathi directorial had captured the beautiful sceneries and locations in the shore city Vizag.
