3 Telugu Techies Face Visa Fraud Charges In US

The Trio are identified as Santosh Giri (42) hailing from San Jose, Kishore Dattapuram (49) from Santa Clara and Kumar Aswapathi (49) of Austin. They were charged with 10 counts of visa fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud.
As per the indictment, These Three Consultants has been running Santa Clara-based Nanosemantics.Inc. They submitted fraudulent I-129 Applications with misleading information on behalf of foreign workers to obtain H-1B Visa so as to have an advantage over other competing firms. The Trio even sought the help of third parties to accomplish the mission. Foreign Workers were offered coaching to make them answer the USCIS Queries so that US Govt won't be able to discover the fraud.
Santosh Giri, Kishore Dattapuram and Kumar Aswapathi were arrested last week. All the three of them pleaded not guilty and were released on bonds. They will have to appear before Judge Edward J Davila on May 13th. If the charges were proven, Maximum punishment could be 10 years of jail term, fine of USD 250,000 and Restitution.
