Today marks the third anniversary of the Pulwama Attack that saw as many as 40 Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) personnel making the ultimate sacrifice. Pakistan-based terror outfit had planned the attack resulting in a tense situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Tracing the details of the attack, the unfortunate incident took place in Pulwama three years back as the attack was planned, making the CRPF convoy the target. During the early hours, the incident took place and made many heads turn.

India did not sit silent and gave a befitting reply to Pakistan with the airstrike, Surgical Strike. Indian Air Force had hit the bull’s eye by carrying out an attack and blasting the Balakot terror camps. Several terrorists were killed in the attack.

As India is celebrating the third anniversary of black day, newly appointed Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane paid tributes to the martyrs and remembered their sacrifice for the motherland.

The Indian Army remembered the brave souls on Monday. Taking to social media, the Indian army said that the General and other army officials paid tributes for the Jawans.

"General MM Naravane #COAS and All Ranks of #IndianArmy pay homage to the brave jawans of Central Reserve Police Force who laid down their lives in the Line of Duty during a Terrorist attack in #Pulwama on 14 February 2019, the tweet reads.

India had successfully launched the airstrike on the 26th of February, days after the Pulwama attack. After crossing the border, the Indian Air Force had bombed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan.

A day after the airstrike, Pakistan planned a counter-attack, and a warplane belonging to India was shot down and the pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan was captured by Pakistan and released later. Following his heroics, he was awarded the third-highest wartime gallantry medal, Vir Chakra.
