32,077 Rapes reported across India in a Year

In a shocking revelation, As many as 32,077 rape cases were reported across the country in the year 2015.
Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary informed Rajya Sabha Today about the crimes against women in India. She told the Upper House that Centre has created Central Victim Compensation Fund of Rs 200 crore under the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend support for Victim Compensation Schemes in all the States.
According to National Crime Records Bureau, About 1,706 out 32,077 rape cases reported in the country were gang-rapes.
