Telangana is one among those 9 States!
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Aug 2015 9:05 AM GMTPradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (Housing For All) was launched on June 25th this year. Union Government took up the task of building houses two crore families belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in Urban Areas by 2022.
Telangana is one of the nine states choosen by the Housing Ministry to offer maximum benefit. The other states include Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, J&K, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. As many as 305 cities in these nine states have been chosen for 'Housing For All' initiative. Madhya Pradesh (74), Odisha (42), Rajasthan (40), Chhattisgarh (36), Telangana (34), Gujarat (30), Kerala, J&K (19) and Jharkhand (15).
Six Other States (Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Uttarakhand) were also keen on implementing six reforms in connection with approvals for Housing Projects. All these 15 states have entered into an agreement with the Centre for completing the mission.
Union Government will be providing financial assistance between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.30 lakh per house. Out of 305 Cities picked up for 'Housing For All', There are 26 Smart cities and 136 Amrut cities.
