40 years in politics, but couldn't become a minister!!
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 March 2022 5:33 AM GMTThose who began their political careers with him went on to become CMs and ministers. But, despite being in politics for over 40 years, he could not even manage to become a chief minister. This is about Prakasam district's Karanam Balaram. Come to think of it. He is a four-time MLA and a one time MP. Whenever he won an election, his party did not come to power. When his party came to power, he was defeated in the election. Thus, he could never become a minister.
Karanam began his political career with the Congress Party. But, soon after the TDP was formed, he switched over to the TDP and since then was with the party. In 2019, he contested from Chirala against YSRCP's Amanchi Krishnamohan and won. But, in the later developments, he joined the YSRCP. But, despite joining the YSRCP, he could not become a minister.
He and his band of loyal supporters feel that he did not gain anything by joining the YSRCP. He is just an MLA and was not made a minister. What more? Jagan did not reward him with even a corporation post. His supporters are hoping that Karanam Balaram could get the minister's post at least in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle.
Sources say that the TDP is quite strong in the seven segments of the Bapatla assembly constituency. They feel that YSRCP can make a dent only if Karanam Balaram is projected as a minister. They also feel that this is Karanam Balaram's last chance as he could pit his son Venkatesh as the party candidate in the next assembly elections. Will he or won't he? Let's wait and see.
