4G Download Speed in India (5.1 Mbps) is marginally higher than Global Average of 3G Speed (4.4 Mbps). Actually, India's 4G Speed is 3 times below that of Global Average (16.2 Mbps). Whereas, 3G Download Speed is less than 1 Mbps in India and many 3G subscribers even receive just about 10 kbps.

As per report of London-based firm OpenSignal, India's Download Speeds has fallen by over 1 Megabit per Second in the six months as traffic increased mainly due to Reliance Jio free services. To remain competition, Other Telecom Operators such as Airtel, Idea and Vodafone slashed prices and introduced free services. These developments eventually increased the usage of data services in the country.

India is ranked at 74th Position, even below Pakistan and Sri Lanka. While Singapore is best in terms of 4G Speed, South Korea attains Top Position when it comes to 4G Availability.

In India, There are about 217.95 million date subscribers by the end of 2016. The broadband download speed isn't pleasing at all to say the least.
