597 Fresh COVID-19 Cases Reported In Maharashtra, Toll Heading To 10,000-Mark

The data of the Union Health Ministry said that the positive cases of COVID-19 in the state stood at 9,915 and heading towards 10,000-mark raising many fears and concerns.
Mumbai emerged as the worst-hit city in the country as the toll stood at 6,644 with the city reported 475 positive cases on Wednesday. On the same day, Mumbai reported 26 deaths of 32 witnessed in the state.
To date, Maharashtra has tested a total of 1,37,159 samples and 1,26,376 of them tested negative for the virus. Earlier the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) has decided to use the 1,200 schools under the municipal body to use them as the quarantine centers.
Talking about the count of the COVID-19 cases in India, the figure reached 33,050 with 1,718 fresh cases reported in the past 24 hours. With 66 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll reached 1,076 in the country.
