Farakka Express Derails: 7 Dead, Death Toll To Rise!
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Oct 2018 9:58 AM GMTAt least Seven Passengers of the New Farakka Express (Train No. 14003) had died after the Engine and Nine Coaches derailed near Rai Bareli in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The New Delhi-bound Train was supposed to reach the destination by around 2.30 pm Today.
As many as 35 Passengers suffered injuries. Many people got trapped due to the derailment. The death toll is likely to rise in the next few hours. Hydralic Cutters have been used to separate the bogies.
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Team have been carrying out the rescue and relief operations near the Harchandpur Railways Station. A Team of Doctors have been doing their best to save the victims at the accident site itself. Both the District Magistrate and SP have been monitoring the rescue operation.
UP Government announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. Trains on the Varanasi-Lucknow route have been either diverted or halted.
