640 Out Of 700 COVID Cases Has Tablighi Link: Rajender

With the fresh cases reported in the Suryapet district, the positive cases in Telangana have reached 700 in the state. Talking about the same, Telangana Health Minister E. Rajender said that out of 700 cases, 640 cases were related to Tablighi Jammat in Delhi.
He said that around 20 members of a family who were the attendees of the Markaz congregation in the old city area of Hyderabad were tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. 'Six persons spread the virus to 81 members of their families and other contacts,' Rajender said.
Following this, the Health Minister urged the attendees of the religious congregation held at the Nizamuddin area of Delhi to report to the authorities soon so that medical examinations can be done.
24 Fresh COVID-19 cases were reported under the under GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) area taking the toll of the positive cases in the area to 240.
The Minister said that to date, 10,000 tests were conducted in the state while seven labs were dedicated for the COVID-19 tests which will be doubled soon. He added that two more labs will be stated in Hyderabad soon.
