When the specialized agency World Health Organization(WHO) is working hard to contain the ongoing pandemic Covid-19, the respiratory disease has hit the agency very hard.

WHO confirmed that since the ongoing pandemic has started, not less than 65 staff members working at the headquarters, Geneva has tested positive for the contagious disease.

"Since the start of the pandemic, a total 65 WHO staff stationed in Geneva - working from home and onsite - have tested positive for #COVID19. We have not yet established whether any transmission has occurred on campus, but are looking into the matter," WHO's tweet read.

The health agency made it clear that the infected staff members include those who work from home as well as working on site. The contact tracing has been done and the related protocols were followed.

"WHO staff who were confirmed positive with #COVID19 in Geneva have received the necessary medical attention. WHO carried out full contact tracing and related protocols. Enhanced cleaning protocols were implemented in relevant offices," WHO added.

It's surprising to know that the Covid-19 pandemic has reached WHO headquarters, which is not leaving any stone unturned to see that things get normal.

The latest development came days after WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus's warned that getting a vaccine to cure the pandemic will not end the ongoing pandemic.

On the other hand, the world is fearing the pandemic, which has spread to more than 200 countries globally. More than 54 million patients have been diagnosed with the virus so far, while over 1.3 million people succumbed to the virus.
