Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar who proposed the New land reforms bill, said, the bill was brought to the house to put an end to the problems faced by the farmers.

Talking about the lands owned by the farmers, KCR opined that around 98 percent of the farmers in the state own less than 10 acres of land and mentioned that the government will interfere in the Agencies and Tribal areas.

Speaking in the house, CM KCR said that Maroon color passbooks will be issued to non-agricultural lands so that these lands can be identified without any difficulties.

He said that a lion share of poor and small farmers who hail from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities in the state own less than 5 acres.

CM KCR went on to say that protecting the lands of Non-Resident Indians (NRI) is on the government and for this, a new mechanism will be put forth to protect these lands.

As the NRIs won't possess Aadhar cards, other ID documents like Passports will be used in this regard to protect their lands, CM KCR said.

KCR added that the new revenue bill will help to speed up the process of property registration, mutation, and updation. Fast track tribunals will come in the pace of Revenue courts.
