While we are still unable to come out of the news that Keralites are maintaining six feet distance in the queue at the liquor shops, a man has created a sensation by filing a petition in the court to get liquor to delivered at home.

He has moved the Kerala High Court in this manner to seek a direction to the Beverages company to see that the potable liquor is delivered to consumers via online platforms. After hearing the petition, the court has come down on the petitioner and Justice AK Jayasankaran Nambiar has slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on Jyothish, the petitioner.

Though the counsel for the petitioner sought permission to withdraw the writ petition, the Court went on to impose exemplary costs. The judge further

Despite the advocate representing the petitioner requesting the court to allow them to withdraw the petition, the Court did not grant permission for them and imposed a huge fine. The Judge has directed the petitioner to pay the amount to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.

"The petitioner's conduct in filing this frivolous petition at a time like this, while making a mockery of the salutary concept of access to justice, which this institution strives to guarantee, also ridicules the functioning of this noble institution. For the said reckless, insensitive and insolent action, the petitioner cannot be let away lightly, " the Judge added.
