A Raja blames Manmohan Singh for 2G Scam
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Aug 2016 7:26 AM GMTFormer Telecom Minister A Raja's book on the 2G Spectrum Scam which shook the Nation is creating a sensation now.
In the book 'In My Defense' which will be published next month, Raja says then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was 'wrong' in remaining silent when he was sacked as Telecom Minister. He also opined Manmohan lacked mental strength to counter the accusations and noisy media. Raja claims neither PM nor any of the Ministers objected to 2G Licences during any of the meetings. He expressed anguish over the way government disowned him after the scam was exposed.
Raja alleged former Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai was involved in the international conspiracy to destabilize the UPA Government. He dedicated three chapters of his book to Vinod Rai and CAG. He dared to describe CAG report on 2G licences as a Caveman's voice.
The Ex-Minister told to Union Ministers including then Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, 'Centre might feel nothing wrong in sending one individual to prison for saving Government, but you would end up sacrificing the Government itself by doing so'.
2G Scam is related to the illegal allocation of 122 Telecom licences in 2008. Supreme Court cancelled all these licences in 2012.
