A Statue, A Wife, Two Parties: Drama In Kavali
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 July 2020 11:42 AM ISTA leader's statue, his wife and two political parties These are the ingredients for a perfect political recipe. And the recipe that is dished out is now the staple for the people of Nellore district. In Musunuru under Kavali Assembly Constituency, the civic authorities removed a statue of late NTR during a road-widening exercise. This was enough to make the TDP see red.
The TDP activists jumped into fray and have begun demanding the reinstalling of the statue at the same spot where it used to be once. They also blamed the YSRCP for the uprooting of the statue and tried to whip up passions. Seeing through the TDP game, the YSRCP cleverly said that it would not just reinstall the statue of late NTR, but also decided to invite NTR's wife Lakshmi Parvathi for the unveiling. Now, this was enough to trigger panic among the TDP cadres. They are worried that using Lakshmi Parvathi, the TDP might gain control over other NTR statues too. And the biggest worry is that the YSRCP might do the same across the state for all NTR statues.
So, the TDP is staunchly opposing Lakshmi Parvathi's presence. It says that NTR is the property of the Telugu Desam Party and not of Lakshmi Parvathi. They say that Lakshmi Parvathi should have nothing to do with the statue.
