The Covid-19 pandemic has been harsh towards the doctors and medical staff, who have a high chance of catching the virus, as they treat and assist the patients in the line of duty.

Similar to the first wave, several doctors have breathed their last. In its latest report, the voluntary association Indian Medical Association (IMA) said a total of 719 doctors died in the country so far during the Covid second wave.

While 719 doctors breathed their last across the country, Bihar tops the list with 111 doctors losing their lives.
