We'll Fund For Aadhaar In All Countries: Gates

Some parties are vehemently opposing the government's approach to make Aadhaar mandatory. But Indian government's sensational programme has found support from unexpected quarters. Microsoft founder Bill Gates said that Aadhaar is a great programme. He said that the quality of governance will improve in the countries where is a growth in the economy and empower their people. He also opined that other countries should emulate Aadhaar.
Bill Gates didn't stop just by appreciating Aadhaar. He said that his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will fund the World Bank to implement Aadhaar type of programme in other countries. He revealed to the PTI that Infosys co-founder and UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani is cooperating the World Bank in this programme. Bill Gates reminded that more than 100 crore Indians registered themselves in Aadhaar which is the largest biometric identification system. While answering to a query he said that Aadhaar will not pose a threat to the privacy of Individuals.
On the other hand, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has clarified on the reports of data leaks. They clarified that they are following a secure process in updation and issue Aadhaar card. UIDAI also revealed that they have banned more than 50,000 operators who were found out to be violating the rules. They said that the Aadhaar software has sufficient security features for the safety of the data and it can't be tampered. It has condemned the reports that the data has been sold in the black market.
