Seeing what Sri Lanka is going through, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the disaster the freebies could bring and indirectly warned the state governments that are giving the freebies. The other day, it is warned the states are taking debts in big numbers.

Though a lot of being said and heard, one party wants to go ahead with the freebies and bank on the freebies. It is an open secret that the Delhi-based Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power with the help of freebies. The same strategy was applied in Punjab and it too worked well in Punjab.

Now AAP wants to expand its footprints and it is eyeing the BJP's stronghold Gujarat. The state will see the polls this year in December and AAP is trying its best in luring the voters there. Instead of going for a new strategy, the party is using the tried and tested module.

Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a big promise addressing people in Surat saying that electricity of 300 units will be provided for free and his government would also think about giving electricity to the agriculture sector as well.

The promises it made in Punjab are showing their impact as the debt burden had increased massively. With this, the government is now blaming the Cente for not giving the funds.

Gujarat has been a tough place to crack to any party. It has been a stronghold for BJP for over two decades and we have to see how AAP can fare in using the tried and tested formula for BJP's stronghold.
