The Delhi-based political outfit Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) which is in power is slowly aiming to expand its footprints by contesting in other states. After running the 2017 elections, AAP is now eyeing the next elections in Punjab. Ahead of the elections, a recent survey told a piece of good news to the party and the supporters.

Keeping the next general elections in Punjab in mind, a new ABP-CVoter survey to know the voters' mood was held this month. The recent survey says that despite not being able to reach the majority mark, Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) has the possibility of becoming the single largest party in Punjab.

If we have to take anything from the findings of the ABP-CVoter survey, the ruling party in the national capital Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) will win between 50 to 56 seats in the elections, followed by the current ruling party Congress(39-45), Shiromani Akali Dal(17-22) and the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) with 0 to 1 seats.

The participants also gave their preferences as the Chief Minister contestants. The survey had found out that 21.6 percent of candidates are in favor of AAP chief, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal is preferred by 18.8 percent.

On the other hand, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh who stepped down due to internal issues was preferred by only 17.9 percent, followed by AAP MP Bhagwant Mann(16.1 percent) and Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu(15.3 percent).

The survey also predicted that there might be a hung-like situation in the next elections as no party would get the clear majority to make it to the government in the state.

The survey was also conducted in Goa on how the voters are looking at the forthcoming elections. Going by the survey, it is expected that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might retain power in Goa with 17 to 21 seats.

The general elections are slated to be held in 2022. While the BJP might come to power for one more time, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to emerge victorious in between 5 to 7 Assembly positions. Congress will be restricted to the third position in the elections.
