Modi - A Favourite for 2019 Polls: US Experts
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 March 2017 8:54 AM GMTTop US Experts predicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a clear favourite to retain power in 2019 Lok Sabha Elections after stupendous victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Assembly Polls.
Adam Ziegfeld, who is Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at George Washington University, said BJP Candidates have won with much bigger margin than Candidates of BSP (in 2007) and Samajwadi Party (in 2012). The landslide victory for BJP in Uttar Pradesh showed there isn't much change in the mood of the people since 2014.
Sadanand Dhume who represents American Enterprise Institute opined Modi is the clear favourite for 2019 Polls based on electoral results in the Assembly Polls in Five States. 'NaMo is the front runner to form government in 2019,' he said.
Whereas, Irfan Nooruddin who is a professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Science predicts BJP is unlikely to get magic figure in 2019 but Modi would succeed in forming a coalition government. He told Modi won the hearts of poor with demonetisation and people backed him inspite of hardships.
