Adieu Wi-fi; here Comes Li-Fi
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Nov 2015 12:18 PM GMTHere comes Good news all you geeks and netizens who have been suffering with less speed of your wi fi services. As an alternative to wi fi Scientists have just taken to the streets with a new wireless technology called Li-Fi. In the place of WiFi, soon you will see the LiFi which works on the principle of LED lights and it's 100 times faster than current speeds.
Scientists have taken Li-Fi out of the lab for the first time and are now testing Li-Fi in offices and industrial environments in Tallinn, Estonia. Using Li fi we can achieve data transmission at 1 GB per second. In the tested environments, they were able to achieve connection speeds of around one gigabit per second.
This new wireless system hit speeds of 224 gigabits per second in the lab, and has the potential to revolutionize internet usage.Li-Fi is uses visible light communication and would be more secure. Li-Fi was invented by Harald Haas from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland back in 2011.
