After Nirmal, Adilabad Shock For TRS

Is the tide turning against the TRS in north Telangana? Indications are that it is indeed turning against the TRS. Adilabad, which stood rock solid behind the TRS in the 2014 elections, appears to be moving away from the ruling party. After Nirmal, it is the turn of the Adilabad zilla parishad to administer a shock to the TRS.
Few days ago, 20 corporators and the municipal chairperson of Nirmal - Appala Ganesh Chakravarthy - have left the TRS to join the Congress. With this the whole municipal corporation has walked out of the TRS. This is being seen as a big shock to Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy, who is now fighting with his back to the wall. Chakravarthy has been a staunch supporter of Indrakaran Reddy all along, With his defection, Reddy is now hamstrung.
As if this was not enough, deputy chairperson of Adilabad zilla parishad - Raji Reddy -, one MPP, 18 ZPTC members and eight former sarpanches have resigned from the TRS. All these belong to Chennur constituency, from where Balka Suman is contesting as the TRS candidate. With these leaders leaving, the TRS campaign has suddenly become very ineffective. A confused TRS candidate has sent an SOS to the TRS leadership. The ZP vice chairperson and his followers would soon announce their future course of action. However, it is known that they might join the Congress.
