Afghan Taliban attack on Kandahar leaves 46 dead
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Dec 2015 3:32 PM GMTTaliban fighters have attacked Kandahar airport. 37 people including 22 military officers and nine Taliban fighters have been killed in the attack.The audacious assault began at about 6.30pm on Tuesday when suicide bombers breached the outer security perimeter.
The fighting started around 6.00pm (Tuesday) and intensified over the night. The attacks were started after Taliban forces attacked buildings housing government employees and military bases at the airport. Unfortunately during the battle, 37 innocent Afghans were killed and 35 others injured
The attack comes as regional leaders are meeting in neighbouring Pakistan to discuss the Afghan conflict.
Soldiers were calling on Taliban attackers to let women and children go but attackers declinedThe Afghan defence ministry said nine terrorists had been gunned down. It is the deadliest ever attack on the largest military facility in southern Afghanistan.
