After 3 Capitals Bill Ap Govt Takes Another Backstep

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh had surprised everyone by taking a back step on another crucial episode after repealing the three capitals bill. A bill on the U-turn by the Andhra Pradesh government was introduced in the Assembly. The bill is said to have been approved by the house already.
It is said that the Andhra Pradesh government which was very strong on the decision to abolish the upper house Legislative Council took a big u-turn and changed its decision. Instead of going for the abolishment, the government had opted to retain the upper house.
State Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy introduced the bill to repeal the previous bill that aimed at abolishing the Legislative Council. With this, the Council will not be touched and can continue as usual. The bill that was approved by the Assembly will be sent to the Union Home Ministry for approval.
Once the Union Home Ministry approves the bill, the upper house can function as usual and the members who were elected to the house can extend their services. The Andhra Pradesh government had changed its decision on the abolishment of the Legislative Council as its strength had increased in the house recently.
The proposal to abolish the upper house was made by the state government after the three capitals bill was stopped and sent to the select committee by the upper house. The same proposal was also sent to the Union Home Ministry.
